A pair of suspects, who had already been arrested by Henry County Police after a chase, now face an additional charge in the City of McDonough.
McDonough Police charged Michael Alexander, 33, of Hapeville, and Charles Lamar Page, 37, of Atlanta, with one count each of theft by taking.
Earlier, Henry County Police had charged Alexander with theft by receiving stolen property, fleeing/attempting to elude an officer and misdemeanor obstruction of an officer. Page had been charged by Henry County Police with misdemeanor obstruction.
Both men were being held Thursday in the Henry County Jail.
The theft took place on April 7, at the Wal-Mart store located at 135 Willow Lane in McDonough, according to McDonough Police Detective Mark Fellows.
"We had a truck stolen out of [ the parking lot at] the Wal-Mart in McDonough," he said. "About two hours later, Henry County Police got into a chase with a gray Oldsmobile, and that's when they arrested Page and Alexander."
Detective Fellows said McDonough officers checked the area following the chase and arrests, and saw the stolen truck. They obtained fingerprints from the vehicle, and authorities also found evidence linking the suspects to both vehicles, Fellows said.
"We viewed surveillance video from the Wal-Mart, and the Oldsmobile was on it," he said. "We searched the Oldsmobile, and found a bag of clothes that belongs to the owner of the truck."
Both suspects appeared in Henry County Magistrate Court Wednesday, represented by the Public Defender's Office.
Judge Robert Godwin bound the case over to Superior Court, and set bond at $7,000 each on the theft charges. That bond is separate from a $35,000 bond set on April 8 for Alexander, and a $5,000 bond set for Page, by Judge Martin Jones, in reference to the police chase.
