LUDOWICI, Ga. (AP) — Four Fort Stewart soldiers have been denied bond on charges connected to the killings of a former serviceman and a teenager in Long County.
Fort Stewart officials say Pvt. Christopher Salmon and Sgt. Anthony Peden, both 25, Pvt. Isaac Aguigui, 19, and 26-year-old Pfc. Michael Burnett appeared before a judge Monday. All four were arrested Saturday.
Two fishermen found the bodies of 20-year-old Michael Roark and 17-year-old Tiffany York on Dec. 6, the day after investigators believe they were killed.
Roark was released from the military Dec. 2.
Salmon and Peden are charged with malice murder. Aguigui and Burnett face charges of party to a crime of murder. Salmon, Peden and Burnett also are charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
All four are active duty soldiers assigned to the 4th Infantry Brigade.
