McDONOUGH — The Henry County Board of Education voted to maintain its current millage rates for education Tuesday.
The school board’s Maintenance & Operations millage rate is currently capped at 20 mills, according to Jeff Allie, Henry’s assistant superintendent of finance. The board’s School Bonds rate is set at 3.628 mills, which is not maxed out.
Allie presented to the school board Tuesday recommending the body maintain its current rates totaling 23.62 mills, for Fiscal Year 2013.
The assistant superintendent of finance said the total school tax for a $150,000 home is $1,322. For a $100,000 home, the total school tax is $850.
