Mrs. Carrol Hedger Woodham, of McDonough, passed away peacefully in the family home, Thursday, Aug. 2, after a long and courageous battle with Multiple System Atrophy. She was born in Kokomo, Ind. Carrol was an accomplished homemaker with a keen sense of humor. During the last few years of her illness, she created hundreds of drawings.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, B.J. Woodham; daughter, Jan Ellis; son, Ed Woodham; sister, Thelma Beals; daughter-in-law, Maggie Hedger; grandchildren, Tammy, Misty, Hannah, Sarah, Nate, Laura, Kim, Adam, Matt, Lindsay, Brian, Greg, and Jeff; 19 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvie Hedger and Lottie McKee Hedger; daughter, Deborah Simpson; son, Stephen Hedger; brothers, Rueben, Lloyd, and Elmer Hedger.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, Aug. 5, at 2 p.m., from the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with Chaplain Don Daly officiating. Entombment will follow at Haisten/Eastlawn Memorial Park. Friends may visit the family Saturday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
