STOCKBRIDGE — Local residents can learn Wednesday how to reduce their risk of a stroke or bone fracture.
Life Line Screening will hold a stroke and osteoporosis screening event, Wednesday, at Stockbridge Presbyterian Church, at 4740 North Henry Blvd.
Stroke is the third-leading cause of death and a leading cause of permanent disability, according to Life Line Screening spokesperson, Joelle Reizes. She said screenings identify potential cardiovascular conditions, including blocked arteries, irregular heart rhythm, abdominal aortic aneurysms, and hardening of the arteries in the legs.
Pre-registration is required for the screenings. Packages start at $149. For more information, call 1 (877) 237-1287 or visit www.lifelinescreening.com.
