Hospital, Atlanta Braves holding Community Health Day

STOCKBRIDGE — Piedmont Henry Hospital is teaming up with the Atlanta Braves to emphasize the importance of good health.

The hospital will host a Community Health Day on Thursday, from 10:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Participants will receive a blood pressure screening, as well as assistance in determining their body mass index, which is a body fat measurement based upon height and weight, said Michelle Nunnally, public relations specialist for Piedmont Henry.

“Former Braves catcher Johnny Estrada will be on hand during Piedmont Henry’s Community Health event,” Nunnally said. “Fans will have the opportunity to meet Estrada as well as enjoy the official mobile fan experience for the Atlanta Braves with the B.A.T. Team (Braves around Town) — a unique experience of interactive games and promotional giveaways for fans of all ages.”

Nunnally said information on heart disease will also be available.

“Everyone taking part in the hospital’s Community Health event will receive two free tickets to an Atlanta Braves game plus a chance to win the Grand Prize of four tickets to an Atlanta Braves game in a fully-stocked suite and a pre-game, on-field experience,” she added.

Piedmont Healthcare is an official partner of the Atlanta Braves, said Donna Braddy, director of marketing, public relations, community education and volunteer services at Piedmont Henry.

“We want to help people stay focused on their health and assist in providing good advice in making healthcare decisions,” said Braddy. “The Braves organization loves to participate in community events, so it is a great fit.”

Braddy added that the hospital will conduct similar community events throughout the year, focusing on heart disease, stroke, men’s health and breast cancer awareness. For more information, visit www.piedmonthenry.org.
