Anna Ruth Bennett, 78, of Stockbridge, passed away July 3, 2012. Anna was born Dec. 7, 1933, to William “Hoyt” and Arrie Ola Bennett, in LaGrange. She predeceased by her parents William and Ola Bennett, daughter Julia LaLa Hughes and a brother Billy Bennett. Anna attended LaGrange College, and was a member of Southwest Baptist church, where she was the secretary to the pastor. She later worked in sales for 50 years, retiring from Macy’s and then working for Sears Homelife.
Survivors are her two daughters, Jan Elizabeth Gray and husband David Scott Gray, and Karen Lynda Simons; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Ryan and Nathan Fawbush, Matt and Jessica Gray, Jeremy Hembree and Brandon and Shannon Hughes; great-grandchildren, Alex and Parker Hembree and Dallas Fawbush; sisters, Barbara Bradfield, Marie Ernest and Lynda Beddell; brother, Doug Bennett, and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, July 7, at 11 a.m. in the Fairview chapel of Horis A. Ward. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Horis A. Ward Fairview Chapel, (770) 474-1231 is an charge of arrangements.
