Jacqueline Maffi, age 83, of Jonesboro, GA, passed away Sunday, July 22, 2012.
She and her husband, Alfred, formerly owned and operated Garage Maffi for a number of years. Jacqueline was also a member of St. James The Apostle Catholic Church and was recently honored by the Breman Holocaust Museum in Atlanta, as she was a rescuer of Jews and others during World War II.
Mrs. Maffi is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Mariella and Dominick Crea of Jonesboro, GA; four grandchildren, Stephanie Peters of Avon, IN, Anthony Lapsley of Stockbridge, GA, and Pasquale and Alfred Crea of Jonesboro, GA; four great-grandchildren, Indira and Stefano Peters, and Antwoine and Darrien Lapsley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Maffi, and a brother, Serge Garascia.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, July 26, 2012, at St. James The Apostle Catholic Church. A Rosary will be held at 12:30 PM Thursday at the Church.
