Universal Pictures will return to Hampton to continue filming “ID Theft” a movie starring Jason Bateman and Melissa McCarthy. “ID Theft” is described as a road trip comedy, according to film location manager and scout Ben McIver.
The production crew will be filming scenes for the film on Wednesday, and will continue until Friday. Filming for the movie will resume on June 11 until 13.
Hampton Police and Henry County Police will be present at all times to ensure the safety of the public and the crew.
“We will be filming driving scenes on East Main and [Georgia] Highway 20 from approximately 6 a.m., until 9 p.m.,” said McIver. “To accommodate the production and for the safety of the public, Highway 20 will be closed to through traffic from Hampton-Locust Grove Road to Lower Woolsey Road.”
McIver said although there could be brief delays, residents will always have access to their homes and businesses.
Another road scheduled to be closed during filming is Lower Woolsey Road, from Georgia Highway 19/41 to Woolsey Road.
“We will also be performing intermittent traffic control on East Main between [Georgia] Highway 20 and Old Griffin Road as needed,” added McIver. “All detour routes will be clearly marked and police officers or production personnel will be on hand to assist [residents] and answer any questions. We look forward to working in your community and will strive to make this a pleasant and professional experience for all.”
