A scheduled meeting of the Henry County Board of Commissioners for today, Tuesday, June 19, at 6:30 p.m., has been canceled. It was set for the county’s administration building at 140 Henry Parkway, McDonough. Call (770) 288-6000.

The Henry County Board of Assessors will meet Monday, June 25, at 9 a.m., in the Henry County Tax Assessors Conference Room, 140 Henry Pkwy., McDonough. The public is invited to attend. Call (770) 288-7999.

The McDonough Veterans Information and Referral Office is located on the first floor of McDonough City Hall, at 136 Keys Ferry Street, in McDonough, to assist area veterans and their families. The office is staffed by volunteers, and is open on Tuesdays, from 10 a.m., until noon, and Thursdays, from 1 p.m., until 3 p.m. Call (770) 957-3915.

The Henry County Branch of the NAACP holds its monthly meetings at the Fairview Recreation Center, located at 35 Austin Road, in Stockbridge. The group meets on the second Tuesday of each month, from 7 p.m., until 8 p.m. The meetings are open to the public. Call (404) 433-3290 or (770) 389-6277.

The Henry County Democratic Party meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month, at 7:30 p.m., at the Fairview Recreation Center (located behind the Fairview Library) at 35 Austin Road, in Stockbridge.

The Henry County Republican Party meets on the first Tuesday of each month, at 7 p.m., at the Henry County Government Annex Community Room, located at 116 South Zack Hinton Pkwy., in McDonough. Call (770) 507-7089.

The Republican Women of Henry County holds its regular meetings on the second Thursday of each month, at 6:30 p.m., at the Golden Corral off Jonesboro Road. Call (678) 610-6688.
