LOCUST GROVE — Supporters of Noah’s Ark Animal Sanctuary in Locust Grove will have a new opportunity this holiday season to make donations through social media.

The sanctuary, at 712 LG Griffin Road, will kick off a Secret Santa donation drive Saturday. It will be conducted through Dec. 24 on the Noah’s Ark website and Facebook page, said Noah’s Ark spokeswoman Logan Moses.

Each day of the drive, Noah’s Ark will feature a different animal and an item the animal needs, she said.

“We’ll have the price of the item on the page each day and they’ll be able to donate any amount toward the price of the item,” said Moses. “They can donate a dollar or they can buy the whole thing, whatever they want to donate or contribute.”

Noah’s Ark provides rehabilitation and care for more than 1,500 injured, abused and orphaned exotic, wildlife and domestic animals. The facility’s husbandry manager, Allison Hedgecoth, said donations during the holiday season help keep the shelter in business.

“Noah’s Ark Animal Sanctuary relies 100 percent on the generous support of donors in the community,” said Hedgecoth. “Our Secret Santa program provides a unique way to give this holiday season and an opportunity to see your contribution make a difference. We hope everyone who donates will visit Noah’s Ark after the holidays to see the impact they’ve made on an animal’s life.”
