LOCUST GROVE — The Shemaiyah’s Scholarship Foundation will host a memorial walk at Piedmont Park Saturday, Oct. 6, at 3 p.m.
The walk honors the life of Shemaiyah White, 17, who died Oct. 6, 2010 in a car accident. He was a senior at Locust Grove High School.
The event is also a fundraiser for the Shemaiyah White Scholarship Fund. Proceeds from the walk will go to the nonprofit scholarship fund that was established in 2011 through Henry County High School Foundation. Gift bags, snacks and water will be available at the walk.
Last year’s scholarship sent six students to colleges around Georgia.
