STOCKBRIDGE — Woodland third baseman DeAnna Fulton scored from third base on a wild-pitch to give the Lady Wolfpack a walk-off 4-3 comeback victory over Locust Grove to clinch the Region 4-AAAA title.

Fulton's score capped a two-run rally in the bottom of the seventh inning that featured a bunt, three walks and a run-scoring ground-out from second baseman Danielle Castleberry to give Woodland (16-11) the school's region title ever in any sport.

"It means a lot," Woodland coach Kelli Poff said. "We have four seniors who have been with me since they were freshmen. They wanted it real bad. The whole team came together. ... It's a huge accomplishment for our program, but it gives us some momentum going into the playoffs."

Poff lauded the effort by pitcher Bethany Osif who pitched every game during the region tournament.

Woodland has home field advantage for the first two rounds of the state tournament. It will play the No. 4 seed from Region 1-AAAA on Wednesday.
