AMS to host Georgia State Fair

HAMPTON — Atlanta Motor Speedway in Hampton is gearing up to host the Georgia State Fair Oct. 26-Nov. 4.

Tickets for the fair are $7 for adults and $5 for children ages five to 11. Children four and under will be admitted free. Ride tickets start at $1 per ticket, and all-day wristbands can be purchased for $20.

Hours of operation are: Sundays from noon to 10 p.m.; Monday through Thursday from 4 to 10 p.m.; Fridays from 4 p.m. to midnight; and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to midnight.

The fair will feature more than 50 midway rides, a petting zoo with animal displays. Additional attractions include an aerialist act, a motorcycle stunt show, the Lady Houdini Escape Artist and comedian and juggler Alex Zerbe.

The fair will also feature concerts Oct. 26-28. Rare Earth will perform Oct. 26, followed by Starship Oct. 27 and Dustin Lynch Oct. 28. More acts will be announced later, according to a release issued by the speedway Wednesday.

Activities for Oct. 26-27 at AMS also will include the Legends Asphalt Nationals.

Grandstand gates will open at 1 p.m. Oct. 26. Admission is $5 for adults and kids seven and under will get in free.

Admission will be free that day for those purchasing a grandstand ticket for Oct. 27. Gates open at 1:30 p.m. Adults will be admitted for $10 and kids seven and under will get in free. People attending the fair can get $2 off with a coupon.
