Dutchtown quarterback Donovahn Jones passed for 195 yards last Friday in the Bulldogs’ season-opening loss to No. 7 Griffin at home.
Alejandro Bennifield, Lovejoy: The senior quarterback completed 11 of his 15 passes for 203 yards and four touchdowns in leading the ninth-ranked Wildcats to a 44-6 win over rival Mundy’s Mill.
Derrick Craine, Union Grove: The senior running back scored a pair of touchdowns in the Wolverines win over Locust Grove. He also rushed for 97 yards on 15 carries and had touchdown runs of 1 and 9 yards.
Travis Custis, Lovejoy: A preseason all-state selection, the senior running back rushed for 95 yards on only eight carries in the Wildcats win over Mundy’s Mill. He also had five receptions for 70 yards. The Georgia Tech commitment had a rushing and receiving touchdown.
Keyante Green, Eagle’s Landing Christian: The senior running back rushed for 175 yards on 13 carries in the Chargers’ 32-7 victory on Alabama power Briarwood Christian. Green, who has committed to Purdue, had three rushing touchdowns before coming out in the third quarter.
Jordan Harris, Dutchtown: The senior offensive tackle graded out at 90 percent in the Bulldogs loss to Griffin last week. Harris, who has committed to play for Middle Tennessee State, also had five pancake blocks.
Jawuan Johnson, Luella: The defensive end had five tackles, including 1.5 tackles for loss and a fumble recovery for a 53-yard touchdown in the Lions loss at powerhouse Lowndes.
Donovahn Jones, Dutchtown: The highly-recruited senior quarterback threw for 195 yards on 10 of 17 passes in the Bulldogs loss to Griffin.
Mannie Lowery, Luella: The inside linebacker had 12 tackles in the Lions’ road loss at No. 6 Lowndes.
La’Darrius Mathis, North Clayton: Despite the Eagles loss to Riverdale, the senior running back rushed for 156 yards on 21 carries.
Malcolm Miller, Woodland: The senior running back had 16 carries for 159 yards and a touchdown in the Wolfpack 27-10 win over Walnut Grove. He also had one reception for a 9-yard touchdown.
JoJo Spann, Ola: The senior had two rushing touchdowns and 136 yards on the ground in the Mustangs’ season-opening win over Eagle’s Landing. He also had an interception in the game.
Miles Vaughn, Union Grove: The sophomore running back rushed for 92 yards on 16 carries
Damon Young, Woodland: In the Wolfpack win last week, he had 10 tackles, two assists and an interception.
