McDONOUGH — Henry County police arrested a Stockbridge woman this week on charges that she drove under the influence with her 5-year-old daughter in the car.
Amber Nicole Dimmerling, 32, of St. Ives Crossing was arrested about 8 p.m. Monday after she allegedly rear-ended a vehicle at a red light, backed into the car behind her, and then drove away, according to an arrest warrant.
One driver involved in the accident was taken to Piedmont Henry Medical Center with minor injuries, the warrant said.
When police stopped Dimmerling at Country Club Drive and Eagle’s Landing Parkway, they noted “her eyes were bloodshot and glassy,” and there was a strong odor of alcohol and marijuana inside the car, the warrant said. Police also said they found cocaine and less than an ounce of marijuana in the car.
Dimmerling’s bond was set at $15,000 for charges of cocaine and marijuana possession, driving under the influence, driving while license is suspended or revoked, improper backing, following too close, hit and run and endangering a child by driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
The case was reset in Henry County Magistrate Court Tuesday morning and she is scheduled to appear in court on March 11.
Dimmerling also was convicted in Henry County of DUI in October 2010. She successfully completed 12 months’ probation, and was ordered to pay a fine and undergo a substance abuse evaluation.
