Mrs. Jerry Davenport Edwards, 73, of McDonough passed away Jan. 31, 2013. Mrs. Edwards was born in Calhoun, Ga., the daughter of the late Aldon Clay and Bessie Mae Gravitt Davenport. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Howard Davenport. She was a devoted homemaker who enjoyed spending time with family and friends, cooking, gardening, and caring for animals.
Survivors are her husband of 55 years, Paul Edwards of McDonough; children, Pat Nation (Danny) of McDonough, Sam Edwards (Sharon) of Stockbridge; grandchildren, Leah Jones (Clint) of Phenix City, Ala., Rebekah Nation of Atlanta, Jonathan Edwards of Stockbridge, Phillip Edwards of Bellevue, Neb.; great-grandchildren, Anna and Olivia Jones; brother, Richard Davenport of Kingston, Ga.; sisters, Barbara Crumbley and Audrey Pickel both of Cartersville; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family received friends at Owens Funeral Home in Cartersville on Sunday, Feb. 3 from 4-6 p.m. A graveside service was held at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton on Tuesday, Feb. 5, at 1:30 p.m. with Rev.
