PREP ROUNDUP: Ola baseball scores big region win

Dutchtown 6, Riverdale 4: The Bulldogs got another big night at the plate from Michael Warren and Alex Johnson to hold off the Raiders for a Region 4-AAAA victory at home.

Warren and Johnson had three hits apiece one night after the two accomplished the same feat. Warren had a double and three RBIs.

Sam Kim and Adrian McLendon had RBIs for Dutchtown (9-4, 8-2), while Manuel Corrales and Kahlil Parks each had a hit.

Jeremy Arrington pitched 5 1/3 innings allowing two earned runs for the win, while Kendrick Winston pitched 1 2/3 innings of relief for the save.

Luella 7, Morrow 2: Cody Martin made the most of his first start of the season to lead the Lions to a Region 2-AAAAAA victory on the road.

Martin pitched a complete game allowing just two hits and two unearned runs while striking out 11.

The Lions improved to 6-5 overall and 4-1 in the region.

Ola 5, McIntosh 2: The Mustangs got their fourth straight win in a crucial Region 4-AAAAA victory on the road.

Ola (10-3, 5-3) dealt the region-leading Chiefs their second straight loss after opening the season 9-0.

Union Grove 12, Mount Zion 0: The Wolverines got a Region 4-AAAAA victory in six innings on the road.

Union Grove senior Andy Callocchio pitched five shutout innings to earn the win.

The Wolverines improved to 9-5 overall and 7-3 in the region.

Woodland 15, North Clayton 0: The Wolfpack broke a two-game losing streak and a Region 4-AAAA victory in four innings at home.

T.J. Riles led Woodland (8-5, 6-4) with two hits including a triple and two RBIs. Malcolm Nicholas went 2-for-4 with two RBIs, Josh Evans went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs, Theo Smith went 1-for-4 with three RBIs and Eric Smith added a single and two RBIs.

Mark Bussey pitched three innings for the win.
