STOCKBRIDGE — World Internet Group has announced the launch of a World Technology Center in Stockbridge to launch new technology initiatives.
According to a press release, the planned facility will focus on three major initiatives:
• An Innovation Lab focused on start-up companies that are launching in the technology sector;
• An Accelerator designed to help emerging or existing technology companies that have the capacity and resources to grow and scale but need a home in Stockbridge and Henry County rather than leaving the state;
• A Resource Center comprised of academic institutions – both locally and throughout the United States – that initially will focus on three major technologies: cloud computing, mobile technology and Internet security.
CEO J. Scott Barresi said he expects the World Technology Center to be operational around the first of the year and expects to make a number of related announcements over the next six weeks.
According to the World Internet Group website, the team is actively developing what it calls “world class technology brands and businesses in the fastest growing markets across the globe.”
