MCDONOUGH — Two charities serving Henry and surrounding counties will benefit from the Delta Community Philanthropic Fund after each received a grant award in a Feb. 20 ceremony at the Credit Union’s Stockbridge (Eagles Landing) Branch.
Delta Community CEO Hank Halter presented a $5,000 check to the Hands of Hope Clinic, a faith-based nonprofit that provides uninsured residents of Henry County with quality medical and dental care. In addition to primary care, the clinic offers free lab and diagnostic services, as well as counseling and specialty care, in an effort to reduce unnecessary emergency room visits and foster overall health.
Halter also presented a $3,500 check to H.E.L.P. (Helping Every Loving Parent), which provides support for families with children on the autism spectrum. H.E.L.P. offers educational enrichment, behavioral and social skills training and financial education, with a goal of helping children transition into productive, independent adult lives.
The Delta Community Philanthropic Fund supports the Credit Union’s goal of strengthening local communities through education, financial support and volunteer efforts.
