HCFD thanks citizens for $44K in boot drive donations

The Georgia Firefighters Burn Foundation said the Henry County Fire Department collected $44,432 for its three-day “Give Burns The Boot” drive in April.

McDONOUGH — All that spare change people put in Henry County firefighters’ boots added up.

The Georgia Firefighters Burn Foundation said the Henry County Fire Department collected $44,432 for its three-day “Give Burns The Boot” drive in April.

Boot Drive coordinator Capt. Michael Hunnicutt said, “We would like to thank all of our citizens for their generous support.”

All funds will go to fire safety and prevention education, medical facility support and burn survivor recovery, including some funds that will be returned to HCFD for its local education and prevention efforts.
