Special PhotoThe Rotary Club of Henry County will host its second annual a Home Medical Equipment Collection Day to benefit Friends of Disabled Adults and Children. Gently used and new home medical equipment, such as wheelchairs, crutches, walkers and other mobility aids, will be collected and reissued to those with long- or short-term mobility challenges. Friends of Disabled Adults and Children will also be accepting monetary donations at the event. The event will be held Saturday, Aug. 24, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church of McDonough, 101 Macon St., rain or shine. Limited pick-up service is available by contacting FODAC at 770-491-9014, ext. 114, by Thursday, Aug. 22. Some equipment that is especially needed includes; adaptive strollers, air cast boots, bathing aids, braces for knee or ankle, canes, crutches and forearm crutches, corner chairs, gait trainers, hospital beds, hospital mattresses, manual and electric wheelchairs, and more.
