The superintendent of Gwinnett County wants support staff to report to their schools on Monday jeopardizing what our Governor is trying to accomplish. He declared schools closed for the remainder of the year, plus standardize testing has been suspended, yet the superintendent, in his attempt to justify salaries, wants Principals, APs, admin staff, custodians and food service workers to report to work. In some schools it could mean in excess of 70 people in a building without gloves or masks, using restrooms, opening doors, plus having to leave their homes and put gas in their cars and returning home to expose their loved ones. Testing has been suspended and these APs and other support staff are currently working remotely without a hitch. To ignore the call for social distancing so early in this pandemic is outright insane and places hundreds of people in harms way as all of the folks required to report have families.

If we are to defeat this virus we must stay the course of social distancing. This superintendent needs to be ordered by the governor to stop this madness of having folks report to work when the work can be done remotely thus maintaining social distancing. No other school superintendent is ordering support staff to report, but him. This is dangerous and outright criminal and clearly indicates that Mr. Wilbanks does not care for health and well being of his direct reports.

This needs to be exposed so that we won't have to hear about folks becoming positive with COVID-19 because of Mr. Wilbanks poor judgement and decision making.
