MORROW — The Georgia Archives will host a virtual Lunch and Learn on Dec. 11.

The topic of discussion will be A Brief History of the Atlanta Fire Department, presented by former Atlanta fire Chief Joe Tolbert.

Tolbert is a fifth generation Atlanta firefighter. His great-great-great grandfather began the family tradition in 1870 with the Atlanta Volunteer Fire Department. Tolbert joined the Atlanta Fire Department in 1972 and has served in every rank and capacity within the AFD up to acting fire chief. He retired from the Atlanta Fire-Rescue Department in 2005.
