Only two weeks remain in the regional effort to get more than 400,000 handwritten Thank You letters in the hands of military personnel serving overseas and one local school has taken the challenge to heart.

For the past two weeks, members of the Flippen Elementary School community, in north McDonough, have been soliciting support from residents to send expressions of gratitude to those who will be serving overseas during the Thanksgiving holidays.
