Alan Peterson named Economic Development director for Stockbridge

STOCKBRIDGE — Dr. Alan Peterson has been hired as the new Economic Development director for the city of Stockbridge. In his new role, Peterson is responsible for facilitating community and economic development initiatives.

Peterson has more than 10 years of public administration, community development and economic development experience, having served in public administration, community development and economic development roles in the greater Houston and metro Atlanta regions. Peterson’s expertise includes public policy research and implementation, civic engagement, economic development research and implementation, economic development strategic planning and project management. Peterson received his bachelor of arts degree in sociology from Morehouse College and his master’s degree in public administration (MPA) with a concentration in public policy from Texas Southern University. Peterson received his doctoral degree in urban planning and environmental policy from Texas Southern University, with a research and dissertation focus in economic development.
