Body found in wooded area near Woodhaven Estates

STOCKBRIDGE —A man’s body was discovered in a wooded area near Woodhaven Estates in Stockbridge over the weekend.

Henry County police have identified the man as 58-year-old Robert Ezra Craddock and have determined his remains were in the area between 24 to 48 hours. His body was discovered Saturday afternoon by two people using a trail through the wooded area near Acacia Drive, commonly used as a cut-through.

“At this time the circumstances surrounding the death is uncertain pending the result of the GBI autopsy,” police spokesman Maj. Mike Ireland said Monday.

Investigators were unable to locate any obvious injury to the victim, Ireland said.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is scheduled to perform an autopsy Tuesday, which will hopefully shed more light on the circumstances surrounding the man’s death and how his remains came to rest in the residential area off Miller's Mill Road.
