Facebook tries to remind users about benefits of data collection ahead of Apple privacy change

Apple (AAPL) is set to introduce a new requirement for users to give explicit permission for apps to track them across the internet, a move that has roiled Facebook, which relies on data collection to target ads.

Facebook said Monday that it is testing a new pop-up alert for iPhone and iPad users that stresses the benefits of its apps collecting personal data. The test comes ahead of an Apple privacy change with the potential to upend the social network's core business.
