CCPD officer indicted on federal bribery charges, resigns from department

ATLANTA — A former Clayton County Police Department officer faces federal charges for allegedly soliciting a bribe last summer in exchange for dismissing pending criminal charges against two Clayton County defendants.

Officer Grant Kidd Jr., 52, of Hampton was indicted May 11 by a federal grand. He was arraigned before U.S. Magistrate Judge Russell G. Vineyard.
