Dr. William Simmons named board president of National Association of Court Management

Dr. William Simmons of McDonough has been elected president of the board of the National Association for Court Management. 

McDONOUGH — The National Association for Court Management (NACM) has elected Dr. William "Will" Simmons of McDonough as President of the Board for the 2019-2020 term.

Simmons is district court administrator for the Sixth Judicial Administrative District of the Superior Courts of Georgia, which includes 5 judicial circuit and 21 superior court judges covering 14 counties.

Simmons, who has served as president of the Georgia Council of Court Administrators, also is a member of the Unlicensed Practice of Law Committee for the State Bar of Georgia, the Judicial Workload Assessment Committee for the Judicial Council of Georgia and the Board of Trustees for the Savannah State University Foundation.

Simmons holds a B.S. in political science from Savannah State University, an M.A. in leadership and public administration from Shorter University and a Ph.D. from Argosy University. He also earned an executive leadership certificate from Cornell University.

With over 1,700 members internationally, NACM is the world's largest court management professional organization and is dedicated to educating court professionals, providing a support network, sharing information, and advocating on important court and justice system topics.
