MCDONOUGH — Before the track season even began in earnest, Eagle’s Landing junior Devin Dixon was discouraged.

Less than a year removed from his first state title in the 800-meter run, he shouldn’t have been. But an early season shin injury suffered during practice in early February derailed the start of the defending champion’s pivotal season for three weeks.
