Evans leaves Stockbridge city council race

A veteran Stockbridge city councilman has dropped out of the upcoming municipal race. Fred Evans has withdrawn his name from the Nov. 8, ballot. The reason, he said, is the councils recent switch in insurance coverage for government employees.

In May, the council voted to change the coverage plan for Stockbridge employees from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia, to Coventry Insurance, based in Bethesda, Md.
