McDONOUGH — A former body shop employee accused of stealing $2,700 in cash paid by a customer for their auto repairs told prosecutors during a probable cause hearing Friday that he had no reason to wrong his employers.

“I loved working there,” Ashley Justin Engel, 28, of Highland Boulevard in McDonough, said during his testimony. “I really didn’t want to lose my job, because I was getting along great with the manager. I was getting performance bonuses.”
