HAMPTON – A portion of Ga. Highway 20 will be closed later this week as it is being used for filming.

According to a release from the Georgia Department of Transportation, film crews will be doing production work and shooting scenes on Ga. Highway 20 from East Main Street to Lower Woolsey Road in Hampton from 7 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 17 to 5 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19.

That stretch of roadway will be continuously and completely closed to traffic during that time period, and a detour route will be installed to direct motorists around the film company’s work zone.

Law enforcement officers will also be stationed at the closures to enforce safety at the site.

Signs have been placed informing motorists of the road closure. In addition, signs with the code “EEE” have been placed in the vicinity of the Atlanta Motor Speedway. It was not immediately clear what project is using that production code.

According to the state of Georgia’s website, a total of 43 filming projects are going on right now in the state.
