limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

Mr. Willie Hugh “Bill” Garrison, 71, of Monticello, Ga., passed away August 11, 2011. Bill was born in Langston, Ala., to the late John William and Annie Leona Blancett Garrison. He was preceded in death by previous wife, Brenda Garrison. He served his country in the United States Army. He retired from MARTA after 28 years of service. He was a member of St. John Baptist Church, in Decatur. He enjoyed radio broadcasting, writing songs, playing the harmonica, singing in the church choir. Survivors include his wife, Fay Garrison; children, Darryl (Donna) Garrison, of Hogansville, Teresa D. (Eddie) Weathersbee, of Hampton; Billy J. Strickland, of Rex, Va., (Kenny) Martin, of Hampton, Wesley H. Brown, of Rex, Kathy “Snowball” (Al) Thomason, of Sevierville, Brenda “Sunshine” (Andy) Born, of Jackson; 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, August 14, at 2 p.m., from the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home. Pastor Tommy Dunn will officiate. Interment will follow at Haisten/Eastlawn Memorial Park. Friends may visit the family Saturday evening from 6 p.m., to 8 p.m., at the funeral home. Contributions are asked to be made to St. John Baptist Church in memory of Bill.
