Hampton Elementary celebrates Black History Month

First-graders at Hampton Elementary School recite details of the life and times of black American scientist and inventor, George Washington Carver.

Their applause echoed from the walls, which were decorated with student artwork paper mosaics and water-color paper dolls, representing celebrated figures in American black history.

Gathered together in the Hampton Elementary School gymnasium were students, their teachers and parents, for the schools Black History Month Celebration on Tuesday.
