MCDONOUGH — The Henry County School Board has scheduled three millage rate hearings this month.

The board intends to keep the rate at 20 mills, the highest allowed by law. Due to a 5.67 percent increase in the county’s tax digest, the district will collect more revenue this year than last.

As a result, the district is required by law to hold hearings to give the public an opportunity ask questions of the BOE and learn how the rate will affect taxes.

The hearings will be held at the Henry County Schools Administrative Offices,

33 N. Zack Hinton Parkway, on the following dates:

♦ July 15 at 9 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.

♦ July 22 at 4:30 p.m.

The BOE is expected to adopt the millage rate on July 22 at 4:45 p.m. at the Administrative offices.
