Henry County Police Ofc. Loignon commended in Locust Grove stolen vehicle recovery

McDONOUGH — Henry County Police Ofc. Richard Loignon has been named the North Precinct’s Officer of the Month for June 2019 for his efforts in recovering a stolen vehicle.

Loignon was on duty June 24 when he heard on his radio that there had been a vehicle theft in Locust Grove and that the owner, whose phone was in the vehicle, was tracking the suspect’s location.

Based on the owner’s information, Loignon was able to track down the stolen vehicle and arrest a suspect. He then contacted Locust Grove Police and the owner so they could come get the vehicle.

“Officer Loignon’s efforts resulted in the quick apprehension of the suspect and the recovery of the vehicle before any damage could be done to it,” HCPD said. “Officer Loignon is new to the police department, and his eagerness and drive in his new profession are to be commended.”
