McDONOUGH — Judge Holly W. Veal has sentenced a convicted rapist to two life terms behind bars.
Following a jury’s guilty verdict on rape and aggravated sodomy charges, Veal handed down Darryl Pressley Jr.’s sentence on Thursday.
Pressley, 35, of Forsyth, was convicted of raping a woman in 2018 after sneaking into a bedroom after a friend’s birthday party. The woman was asleep but awoke to Pressley pulling off her pants and attacking her.
“This was an emotional case, and we are pleased to deliver justice to this young woman,” District Attorney Darius Pattillo said.
Pressley also must register as a sex offender.
