MCDONOUGH — In a long-fought battle for the Henry County Board of Commissioners seat, Republican June Wood secured the position after defeating Democrat challenger Carlotta Harrell in Tuesday’s runoff election.

With all the precincts reporting, Wood received 66.6 percent, or 7,628 votes. Harrell fell far behind with just 33.4 percent, or 3,825 votes.
