MCDONOUGH — When David Wu was in high school his first choice college was picked based on a go kart program the school offered.

He hadn’t considered that Texas A&M was a long way off from his Atlanta home or the cost of out-of-state tuition. Wu knew he wanted to attend an engineering school, and Texas A&M offered engineering and go kart racing. It wasn’t until one of his high school teachers suggested attending Georgia Tech that Wu had even considered the school.
