LOCUST GROVE — Though still in the process of some slight tweaking, the city of Locust Grove is preparing to present an estimated $11.3 million Fiscal Year 2017 budget, a slight reduction over the current year’s budget.
The 2016 budget was adopted at about $12.5 million. City Manager Tim Young said most of the decrease in expenditures is a result of the nearly completed public safety building. Young said the FY 2017 budget only anticipates about $500,000 for any close-out costs that may occur for the completion of the SPLOST-funded public safety building. In addition, the 2016 had included capital costs for water and sewer improvements.
