Three local teams competed in the GHSA Class AAAA Game Day State Championship Wednesday at the Columbus Civic Center. Locust Grove, pictured, was the top Henry County team, placing seventh in the finals. Eagle’s Landing and Stockbridge also competed in the event. Teams competed in areas they use to lead a crowd at a game on “Game Day” at a football or basketball game. Cedartown won the Class AAAA state championship. Teams were judged on three segments — cheer, band chant and fight song. For more information about the event, visit https://www.ghsa.net/ghsa-game-day-state-championship.
