To the editor:

As Mayor of the city of McDonough, I am deeply disturbed by the sudden and dramatic increase in gasoline prices for which there seems to be no apparent justification. We have all been shocked and saddened by the recent calamities associated with Hurricane Katrina. At this time of national emergency, the cooperation of all citizens, and the businesses they rely upon, is of paramount importance.
