McDonough Fire Department receives high ISO rating, Henry County Fire Department shoots for the same

McDONOUGH— The McDonough Fire Department received an almost perfect score on its International Organization for Standardization (ISO) rating for the department’s Public Protection Classification.

The ISO rating comes from the organization that provides statistical information on risk, which most insurance companies use to calculate property insurance rates. The department received an 87.54 out of 100. Using ISO’s scale from 10 to 1— with 1 being the best — the McDonough Fire Department’s score falls in Class 2 of the PPC or ISO rating. In the department’s last assessment in 2006, the department received a 4 classification, said Fire Chief Steve Morgan.
