McDONOUGH — The Lions Club and city of McDonough have teamed up to host a Third Free Farmers to Families Food Box Distribution.

The event will be held on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the parking lot of McDonough High School, 155 Postmaster Drive.

Approximately 1,920 20-pound boxes containing locally grown items such as carrots, sweet potatoes, free cabbage, lettuce, lemons, squash, apples and oranges, will be distributed to residents. Availability is limited and one box per family will be given out.

To participate as a volunteer, contact Beverly Coley at tinglin51@yahoo.com or 770-689-6509.

Volunteers must wear a mask and gloves, use hand sanitizer as needed and comply with social distancing requirements. Masks and gloves will be provided if needed.
