McDONOUGH — There are lots of places to take your ghosts and goblins trick-or-treating in Henry and Clayton counties this Halloween.
There are even a few things for older Halloween lovers, like haunted hayrides and a haunted house.
SaturdayArts Clayton invites the community to take part in their Studio Steam family art workshop party with an Addams Family Halloween Party on Oct. 12 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The cost is $15 per participant and pre-paid registration is required. To register, call 770-473-5775.
Oct. 18Monster Mash at McDonough Public Library, 1001 Florence McGarity Blvd. in McDonough, on Oct. 18 from 7-9 p.m. The night will feature a costume parade, games, free ice cream, scary stories by Storyteller Josie Bailey and a walk through haunted stacks. The event is open to all ages.
Oct. 19Commissioner Gail Hambrick and the Clayton County Parks & Recreation Department will host a Fall Festival on Oct. 19 from 1-4 p.m. at Flat Shoals Park, 1915 Flat Shoals Road in Riverdale. There will be a kids pumpkin decorating contest, face paint, rock wall, clown marking bank and costume contest.
Oct. 24Fortson Library’s Book-O-Treat, like trick-or-treat but indoors at Fortson Public Library, 61 McDonough St. in Hampton, from 6-7 p.m. on Oct. 24.
Oct. 27The city of Locust Grove is hosting a trunk-or-treat with the kids and haunted hayride on Oct. 27 from 5-7 p.m. at Claude Gray Park, 99 Frances Ward Drive. After dark, join the mayor for a haunted hayride through the cemetery.
Oct. 28Trick-or-Treat at Panola Mountain State Park on Oct. 28 from 2-4 p.m. Families can enjoy face painting, tree climbing and contests for best costume and best trunk decoration.
Oct. 31The city of Lovejoy is hosting a Trunk or Treat from 6-8 p.m. at Mayor’s Park, 11596 Hastings Bridge Road in Lovejoy.
The city of Hampton is hosting an afternoon costume contest and trick-or-treating on Oct. 31 from 4-6 p.m.
Fear the Woods at Yule Forest on Ga. Highway 155 and includes a haunted house, transport and trail open through Oct. 31 at night and Pumpkin Patch during the day.
Halloween Night at the Henry County Fair, 101 Lake Dow Road in McDonough. Free admission for those dressed in costume from 6-10 p.m.
Commissioner Sonna Singleton Gregory and the Department of Recreation present a Halloween Carnival on Oct. 31 from 6-8:30 p.m. at the Carl Rhodenizer Recreation Center, 3499 Rex Road in Rex. There will be a costume contest, face painting, haunted house and more.
The city of Lovejoy is hosting a Trunk or Treat on Oct. 31 from 6-8 p.m. at the Lovejoy Community Center, 11622 Hastings Bridge Road in Lovejoy.
Sheriff Victor Hill will host at Trunk or Treat from 6-9 p.m. Oct. 31 at the Harold R. Banke Justice Center, 9157 Tara Blvd. in Jonesboro. There will be candy, a haunted trail, bounce houses, food vendors, face painting, DJ and more.
Henry County Parks and Recreation is hosting a Trunk or Treat at Nash Farm Park on Oct. 31 from 6-8 p.m. There will prizes, candy, hayrides and character photo ops. Nash Farm is located at 4361 Jonesboro Road in Hampton.
