McDONOUGH — County Manager Cherie Hobson-Matthews unveiled a new website residents can use to view countywide SPLOST projects during the Board of Commissioners’ meeting Oct. 20.
The site will allow users to see all county-wide projects and narrow them down by district. Information will include the location, pictures, budget and the management team overseeing the project. Additionally, it will contain the timeline, expenditures and Board of Commissioners resolutions approving each project.
Users will be able to subscribe to each project individually to receive updates.
Matthews said she and her team intend to update the site weekly.
“This will be a live document,” she said.
Matthews noted the county is in the process of finalizing the site, with plans to go live on Nov. 1.
Eventually, she said, the site will contain information on all county projects.
Board member Vivian Thomas said she likes the transparency the site will offer.
“So many constituents want to see where their dollars are spent,” Thomas said, adding she’d like to see information on projects’ internal flow giving resident the ability to see what stage each is in with the county.
Board chair June Wood called the new site a “great tool.”
“I’m looking forward to it going live,” she said. “This is 21st century technology.”
