The Walmart retailer has opened a Walmart Health center in McDonough.

MCDONOUGH — A new Walmart Health center has opened next to the retailer’s McDonough location.

The new center is the sixth in the state and seventh nationwide.

Walmart Health has partnered with “several on-the-ground health providers to be a first-of-its-kind health center to deliver primary and urgent care, labs, x-ray and diagnostics, counseling, dental, and hearing services all in one facility at affordable, transparent pricing regardless of a patient’s insurance status,” according to Walmart officials.

The center is operated by qualified medical professionals, including physicians, nurse practitioners, dentists, behavioral health providers and optometrists. Walmart Care hosts and community health workers onsite will help customers navigate their visit and understand resources.

Services offered include primary and urgent care, counseling, dental, optometry and hearing exams. The centers accept most major medical, behavioral, dental and optical insurance plans. For those without insurance, Walmart Health offers “transparent” pricing to underinsured or uninsured cash-paying patients.

Walk-ins are accepted as well as appointments. To make an appointment, visit www.walmarthealth.com.

The new center is located at 137 Willow Lane in McDonough.
