STOCKBRIDGE – Patricia Wilson has been named Piedmont Henry Hospital Auxiliary’s 2019 Volunteer of the Year.
Annually, the auxiliary selects the winner based on hours of service, attitude, availability and who demonstrates the hospital’s core values.
Wilson began her service at the hospital in 2005. Since then she has served as the auxiliary’s timekeeper, while taking on additional roles in various areas throughout the hospital, including the Auxiliary Office and Case Management. On Tuesday mornings, she can also be found at the Information Desk in the hospital’s South Tower welcoming visitors with a warm smile.
“She takes all her jobs very seriously and never complains about anything,” said Beverly do Carmo, president of the Piedmont Henry Hospital Auxiliary. “She is always with a positive attitude and a smile on her face. We are so proud to recognize Pat as our Volunteer of the Year.”
Piedmont Henry volunteers play an integral role in providing compassionate care and services to the community, hospital officials said. The group of more than 150 volunteers gave a total of 34,314 service hours to Piedmont Henry in 2018 in addition to raising over $75,000 to support the many hospital projects sponsored by the auxiliary throughout the year.
“Our volunteers provide countless contributions to the hospital on a daily basis for which we are very grateful,” said Donna Braddy, director of community relations and volunteer services at Piedmont Henry Hospital. “We appreciate their dedication toward helping our hospital provide the best possible experience for our patients, families and visitors.”
As long-time members retire from service and new volunteer positions become available, the Piedmont Henry Auxiliary is looking for some friendly new faces to join the team. Volunteer opportunities at the hospital include the gift shop, information desks, nursing units, treatment areas, courier services, golf cart services and more.
